It all makes sense. Love the scaled-up iPods. Dr. M. Practice is probably infringing on a “look and feel” patent or copyright from Apple, though.

That whole iPod learning thing remind me of the Matrix
(No, I’m not accusing Rickard of a rip-off; I believe a lot in coincidence).

Then everyone else will probably need to take lessons on watching Brewster. I.e. can we trust him to know how to freeze meat?

In panel 2, the goal is the same, only the choice of what is being toasted differs

The sad part is that some people really do “download books” instead of reading the real thing. In some ways, it is alrdy d wrst f tmes.

Boiling water doesn’t produce a yummy treat at the end. Clearly useless knowledge to Brewster.

On Brewster’s I-Pod, right under “MAKING TOAST” it should also have “DOWNLOAD ABORTED - STORAGE CAPACITY EXCEEDED”.

You might want to patent the “iThink”
 it’s coming!

too late to patent it, Asimov already wrote a story about it, about 50 yrs ago. didn’t use the name iThink, of course, but the idea was to condense all education into a single fill directly to the brain.

C.J. Cherryh has used the concept of training downloads extensively in many of her stories.

When was the last time you had an original thought, & are you sure it isn’t something you heard or read somewhere? (Not an original question, I think I got it from the Planet of the Apes novel, from which the movies were “borrowed.” The ape scientists were arguing about apparently intelligent behavior in humans. Most thought they were just well trained.)

I have a theory about how to actually make one of those types of devices, the problem is getting the information into the conscious memory
.I think I have a solution for that now as well.

This strip has the possibility of being great. When will it stop wallowing in the mundane?

sidl, Tim Rickard does read these comments. I’m sure he’d be as interested as I am in any constructive opinion as to what would “make this comic great”.

It would be interesting. Instantly as knowledgeable as the greatest theoreticians after a lifetime of work and being able to speak to thousands who understood what you were talking about.

Seminars would be real meetings of minds.
