Man: And as summer gives way to fall, our child begins a new year of force labor in the halls of academia. Here's your bag of woe and off you go. Boy: Why do you always seem to enjoy this so much, Dad?
Our kids are easy – they tell us what they want to take, choose the toughest courses they can get away way (we actually tried to talk one of them out of such a tough schedule) – and get themselves off to school. We do make them lunch.
An old acquaintance of mine once tried to prove something by taking something like 21 hours in his first semester of college. He proved he couldn’t handle it: Stripped his gears and wound up, let’s say, heavily medicated to this day.
