My dad had 3 remote controls—his daughers. “Once around the clock” when there were channels numbered only 2 through 13.

I remember the early remote controls which used ultrasonic sound to transmit their signals. No batteries in the remote, just some ultrasonic chimes and spring loaded hammers which whacked them when you pressed the remote’s buttons.

So that’s how the “clickers” worked! Thanks!

When we got our first TV, stations didn’t broadcast 24 hours a day. In fact we only got 1 channel and it didn’t come on til 4:00PM. But that was Ok. We tuned in early so we could set around and watch the test pattern.

Greatest invention ever. Second greatest invention-Mute button.

Pluggers love items that can keep them fat and keep the laziness alive. Now and forever.

I hated it when the channel knob seized up.

I remember my grandma’s first cable box came with a remote that was wired to the cable box.

Lawrence Welk is the reason all the “Have Gun, Will Travel” shows are still new to me!

And when the picture got those “zaggy” lines going through it, we pulled all the tubes out and tested them at the corner drug store.

I remember when there weren’t remote controls, no color and the screen was only about 8 inches (in a console 4 feet tall) and you had to turn the lights out to be able to see the picture. Also, there was only a few hours of programs each day & only one channel.
