No, Corvair did not have a grille on the front. Valiant is closer…..

I looked at front-end photos of Corvairs, Edsels and Valiants .. gotta be a Valiant for a variety of reasons: http://www.autoweek.com/storyimage/CW/20120628/COLLECTOR/120629827/AR/0/Plymouth-Valiant.jpg&maxW=630

Famous sales pitch. The guy buys it..it is the LAST one ….as soon as he drives off the lot, the next $12.95 is pulled into place.

It’s a comic. It doesn’t have to be any real car. Some details look more like Edsel. Some look more like Valiant and some look like neither. I’m going with an Edsaliant. (not to be confused with an Ed Sullivan which looks completely different).

Hey now. Don’t pick on the Valiants or Corvairs. I had a Valiant 68 model. Slant six. Single carb. Beat a 70 Ford Mach I in a street drag. When the light turned green the Ford accelerated. I just drove off. Suddenly the Ford began to jump and sparks flew out from underneath. He snapped his drive shaft tearing it up underneath. I just cruised by smiling and waving as I crossed the finish line. There are drivers and there are drivers. I hold an SCCA class one license. Bonderant School of High Performance Driving. Corvairs. My dad had one. Great car. Ralph Nader hated it. He was correct though. The rear axles being independent did have problem with folding under if the rear of the car lifted. The issue was who was doing that on a normal basis? Extreme situation in side slide. Yes it could fold under. Normal driving No problem. Had a Ford Pinto too. Remember “Top Secret” the movie. The german staff car hits the Pinto in the rear. That was the fear of the car. Strike in the rear the car explodes. Guess what. My Police Ford Crown Vic has the same problem. Strike it dead center in the rear will crush the fuel tank causing it to leak and catch fire. I guess Ford did not learn.
