Hah! Let ’em try it on me! My kidney function is already down to 10% and I spend 3 mornings a week hooked to a Dialysis machine!

    The jokes on you, suckers!

I was at a Christmas team dinner 15-20 years ago and a co-worker tried to pass this off as actually having happened to her friend. I called her on it as a fraud, but she continued to insist it was true. I couldn’t tell if she was just kidding for the benefit of the team or not, so the next day I sent her the Snoops.com article (entitled, ’You’ve got to be kidneying’). She replied to the email saying, “While maybe it is true it has gotten blown out of proportion, for my friend it was very real.”. That was the day I lost all respect for her and never really worked with her on any project ever again.

I’ve planned way ahead of the game, I’m donating my kidney to my mom so when the black market harvesters open me up, they won’t find anything!

Crap, I forgot about the other one… Maybe I can leave them a note to take half of it.

The first time I heard the phrase “You can’t believe everything you read on the internet” was while on the internet. My head exploded soon afterwards.

Who said I had to use the hotel’s ice? I can just load up at the supermarket and… um… hypothetically, that is……um… Anyone want to buy a kidney?

What I could never figure out is why, if they are so fiendish as to operate on you and steal a kidney, why bother to sew you up (ie reconnect all the cut arteries, etc.) and then go to all the trouble of getting you into a tub of ice. Why bother?

No myth, guys. This is the Washington Post:

Sorry, sdjamieson, but that India story was also disproven. The original complainant was later found to have both his kidneys intact.
