The patron doesn’t look familiar but I’m sure he’s one of my in-laws. :)

He should check his service. My wife use to waitress. She got lots of tips. One she was cute. Two she could really chat one up. Three she looked good in a dress. (Not a short revealing one. Business casual like.) Even if the meal was bad the service was exceptional. Your glass never empty. You never had to say “Waitress?” Those are some lost skills. Not all but some. I liked her service so much I married her for her tip. I got the better deal but she loves me none the less. My whole world revolves around her. No kids (serious injury to me as a child. Not allowed to adopt my job was too dangerous) so devoted it all to her. At least I am not alone which was my biggest fear and I fear very little.

It has been my experience that women who look good in a business casual dress, look even better in a short revealing one.

My husband likes to give the waitress a hard time – in a joking way. If the service is decent we leave 20% but if he’s joking with the waitress and she’s fun, I make him leave more. I notice in these hard times that there is a lot more customer service.

@RW Barton – good story. A good relationship is most important.

If you leave a minimal tip for bad service the waiter will be so arrogant as to think you’re a skinflint.

This reminds me of a joke I once heard. A yound blonde woman was buying a ticket to Paris. But she was a nickel short of money. She started asking people all around the airport: “Can you give me a nickel so I could go to Paris?” A man gave her a quarter and said: “Here.Take your husband and three kids with you.”

    :D
