Ripley's Believe It or Not In 2012, the grandson of a British motorist discovered a 1928 Mercedes S-type car that had been sitting in his grandfather's garage for 60 years - and it was still operational! The sandy soil on the moon is filled with tiny colored glass beads created by the intense heat of meteorite impacts! 'Lonesome George' the last of the Galapagoes giant tortoise Pinta Island subspecies dies on June 24, 2012, at an estimated age of 100!

When Lonesome George died, he was only a shell of his former self!

Last I heard, researchers thought they’d underestimated George’s age. They tend to live considerably longer.

I hope they changed the oil and the transmission fluid before they started the car.

True, about the oil from that era. What gets me is that Valvoline oil is guaranteed for use in vehicles for 150,000 miles, but yet they want to push their more expensive “high-mileage”oil on you once your vehicle gets 75,000 miles. Who to believe? Them, or them…..

Did the astronauts bring any of those sandy beads to earth to be examined? How can anyone leave a car alone since 1928? Aren’t there still gigantic tortises living on other islands?
