Cognitive dissonance is a terrible thing.Especially for those who require certainty in all things.

I happen to disagree with his position, but at least Paul Ryan is consistent: if you believe life begins at conception, then, as he says, the manner of conception is irrelevant: a life is a life and should be protected. Akin and company are just trying to rationalize this.

My wife had four miscarriages. Does this make her a murderer? Am I an accessory?

Why is it that the largest and loudest proponents of " Right to Life" issues are men ? Politicians and priests, what gives them the expertise on women’s reproductive rights ?What is this deep-seated cultural fear that men have which makes them want to keep women in a subservient role ?

“We’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers,” Romney pollster Neil Newhouse said at a panel organized by ABC News.

Republicans are strenuously against abortion. Sometimes violently so. Sometimes murderously so (Dr Edmund Tiller).-Yet they are totally unresponsive when asked about reducing the amount of unwanted pregnancies.

I can’t understand why people keep making fun of Republican’s ignorance of science.

Doesn’t this finally disprove those notions?

A citizen, or simply a person. The problem our culture is having is an ongoing disagreement about when the developing zygote/embryo/fetus becomes a person, with all the rights accorded to a person who is a member of a community. To argue that an unborn human is a member of a community has some serious logical failings.

And boys, boys get raped too. There are good arguments for instituting the death penalty for rapists. Unfortunately it would backfire by making it even more diffcult to get convictions than it already is.

Todd Akin… bought and paid for, by Claire and the DNC. They picked him, supported him, had D voters ‘crossover’ and vote for him… Todd belongs to the DNC.

Re unresponsiveness. Apparently they think women who don’t want to get pregnant should forego sex. It seems likely that the guys who promote this idea have ALWAYS lived without sex. Their method of birth control is their personalities.
