You should have seem my mother’s face when I took her down to the local comic book store and pointed out to her all the old Superman and Batman comics she’d thrown out and what they were currently worth. She never said a thing about collecting comics after that.

Of course, if no one threw them out, there would be plenty of copies and they’d all be worthless. It is the rarity that gives them value.
