I was reminded of an old Japanise saying a while back. The greatest swordsman in the world doesn’t fear the second greatest swordsman, he fears the worst swordsman. The idea is that if you both know what you’re doing the contest (or game) goes to the best. If one person doesn’t know what they’re doing then you have no way of predicting what they’re going to do.
