My girl kitty would get the drink and never get her precious tootsies wet. On the other hand, my youngest boy would jump up and fall right in the dishwater!
My recently lost cat loved water. He used to jump in the shower with me and he liked to dabble in the draining bathtub. He, too, was a paw drinker, which made the water dish very messy.
A cat in a dry sink is common.Mozart there loves to play in water, especially running water. Give him a small rill or gently running faucet and he’ll swat that water all over the place. But a sink with water in it looks too much like a bath about to happen.

He’s not washing, he wants that pesky drip.

Some cats drink from drips, some wet their paws and suck on them. Mine just lapped from a bowl but he did enjoy a bath.
