I moved out of my parent’s home in the middle of a recession, and it was the best thing I ever did. I am proud to say that not only did I finally get a job, but I bought a house (on my own) when I was 24 with money that I saved up. I wish more would try to make it on their own, and if they can’t do it, then they can rely on their parents. But too many don’t even try.

Better hope that child isn’t born with the boomerang gene.

In 2024, a Harris poll showed 52% of young adults 18 to 34 still lived with their parents. The rate averaged 36% from WW2 until then.
