Kittens do displays of hissing and back arching for fun while young. I recall some of mine stalking me as I watched tv then bounced stiff legged at me hissing with back arched and fur standing on end. Then they’d either jump on me and attack loose strings or buttons or settle down and sit on my lap. Peek knows where the tuna comes from. Jimbo is safe.C.

i used to have some gorilla-slippers. when ours was young, she would do the same, attack my feet, and ride around on my foot until the “beast” was subdued

After a lifetime of having cats as pets, believe me, there will be many times you will not get it when it comes to the behavior of a cat.

In college, one brought his pet raccoon. The neighborhood ruling tomcat came by, arched and hissed to establish power. The coon had a look of “do I have to go through this again” and did the same. Thereafter, the cat always walked well outside the tether range.

That’s the artist’s way of showing Peekaboo running around like a chicken with her head cut off. My cats have all been know to chase imaginary mice like that, all over the place, wilder than Zulus.

Sad….

Our cat would attack my leg by throwing her paws around it from behind as I walked.

For the first 6 months that I had Vlad, my feet did not touch the ground as I sat. My toes were attacked at every opportunity. Then he grew out of it. (big sigh) But now, I can pick him up with my feet and we play that way.

My husband felt as you do, until we found a 6 week old kitten stranded behind our shed. it took some effort to coax him out, then we found we could not part with him. 3 years, the cat is thriving, and hubby is quite smitten.

Nobody can say that Peekaboo is ‘spineless’!
