I used to hate evaluations, I used to do them on the new employees in my department. I had my own once every 6 months for efficiency. My old Supervisor used to ask me every 6 months “Why should I keep you around?” I’d have to answer him with “Because you have no idea how to do the monthly inventory or requisition paper work with out me.” and we’d have a good laugh.
same here I also did alot of warehouse work for the same company I moved up from the warehouse and manufacturing to office work in the corporate capacity. Right now I’m working temp work and alot of 90 day jobs in the retail market. mostly due to the really poor economy, I worked for 11 years for the same company until 2 years ago.
darn it! September is our month for reviews. Oh, joy. Though my last manager told me you want a boring review. Too flashy, you get noticed. Bad review, you get noticed. Boring is safe.
Okay, that makes 3 of us. I retired 13 years ago. Worked as a rural route carrier. They were just getting into the computer sorting in my office when my husband and I retired. He was also a rural route carrier. The more work the computers did, the less customer service we could give. We were getting frustrated, and didn’t want to “go postal”. Hate that expression, but it fit. But it was the only job of several I had where I was actually paid equal to a man in the same position.

I am retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Most of the silly games played in this strip are played there too. It is so cool to be retired.

After retiring from a bank, 17 years ago, I still don’t miss it, especially the corporate crap.
