Are those a pair of PF Flyers?
Kinda like Douglas Spaulding in Ray Bradbury’s classic short story.
Fleas, Jon with new sneakers. I can see that
Sneaking.Jon is doing it wrong.
If Jon DOES go golfing again, he better wear two pairs of pants — you’ll never know when he’ll get a “hole in one”, especially if he goes with Liz!

Kind of reminds me when I got a pair of rainbow-colored Nike shoes from Ross’ for around $20

Red Ball Jets. Make you jump higher and run faster. Those were cool shoes in the early 60’s.
I think that would detract from the strip being about Garfield.
This reminds me of a strip back in the Lyman days — that time he had “radial retread tenny pumps!”
