Miss Bliss: Parents: please enjoy the juice and cookie while we go through the information packets I've prepared for you... Miss Bliss: On page 64 is our hygiene component, "Strategies of Hand Washing," with a chart on "The Sleeve; Issues of Nose-Blowing." Mom: Which page? Dad: Yawn. Miss Bliss: On page 142 is "Nap time Goals and Objectives; Toward a Rested Development." Parent: You've got a juice mustache. Mom: Hey! There's a crankiness index! Dad: ZZZZ.

Poor Mr. Otterloop! Like so many people invested with some small authority, Miss Bliss has bloated her pre-school handbook into a massive document of bureaucratic bafflegab.

@pouncingtiger – Peter hasn’t fallen on the floor; he’s sitting in one of those teeny chairs.@olfart et al. – Thanks – I didn’t catch the pun in “A Rested Development.”
This reminds me of the papers they send home with our first- and fourth-grade kids.

The highest level on the crankiness index is known as an “Alice.” Why? Well, no particular reason….
