"So there is an alternate universe that exists where you decided not to bring up the subject of tangential universes?" "Yup." "Oh, to be that tangential cow." "I bet you she's nicer than you."
So… this is the strip where Cow & Boy switched to the tangential universe in which they start the strip by discussing some somewhat deep (for a comic strip) philosophical matter, and end it with some sarcastic / ironic / just plain mean gag. That certainly sets C&B apart, but it makes it harder for the occasional reader to get engaged with the strip. And that probably contributed to C&B not getting the recognition it deserves. Too bad.
