This one breaks my heart actually. Kids are born WANTING to help, to be part of the group, and the best way to raise happy secure kids is to let them know they are part of your team, even if they can’t do something “right” or the way you like from the git go. How are they supposed to learn? Start them with tasks in their wheelhouse and they will be so thrilled to be helping. They will also grow up happy and able to step up and contribute to whatever needs doing. And I’m not talking just cooking here, but anything that requires teamwork.
