Umm, doesn’t Ed—like nearly every person who orders online these days—pay for his BE purchases with a credit card (I don’t see him using PayPal or whatever Batiuk would call it)? And while he was illiterate throughout much of his adult life, are we now going to find out he also can’t do basic math? Still waiting for the hilarity to ensue.
The simplest way would be to ask him if he’d like them to credit his account so that next time he orders it can be used. And there will be a next time. That’s for sure.
I marvel at the persistence some of you experts display, You hate the strip and its creator, yet you keep coming back to enlighten the rest of us with your truths and pinpoint analysis. You all must be a source of joy to those who tolerate you outside of your webworld..
Al Fresco less than a minute ago. Pull out your catalog for another order. Bean’s End does not gives refunds on overpayment. Cranky, you now have $1,000 future credits on your account.

Does Pam have Bedside Manor on her speed dial? It’s time to call them for a pick-up.

Never heard of a place holding an order for over payment. Usually they hold the amount over refund to you.

They’ll send your refund as a store credit.

How did he write a check for an online order that was supposed to be delivered within 15 minutes of ordering?
