When I was at Bible college, we had a very hilly and windy campus. There were a few cats that wandered in from nearby neighborhoods. There was one corner that got lots of sun and no wind, because of the position of the low wall right there. I came along one afternoon, battling the chilly wind trying to hold my skirt down (the strict dress code applied even on windy days) with my arms full of books and there was one of the cats, relaxing in the sun. No wind, no books, no skirt to fight. Just a very contented kitty. And I had to wonder why we called them “dumb animals” indeed.
