Yeah, baking mishaps happen. When my sister and I were learning to bake, we didn’t usually have a problem with burning stuff. Usually. More often, we had a problem getting the cake out of the pan in one piece. Our mom told use to take the broken cake and put it in a big bowl. Mix up an instant pudding and pour it over the cake. Let it set in the fridge. It really was a good save.
When we got better at baking and learned how not to have the cake break when it comes out of the pan, we stopped making pudding cake. A few months later, bless his heart, our dad asked why we didn’t have that anymore, and could we please make him some.
