Mom: We did the bugaboo dance. Daddy got a bloody nose doing the oopsie bedtime pratfall. What's left? Alice: I'd like to individually thank each of my toys for another day of loyal service to me, Alice. I'll start with Bubsey Clownpants. Mom: Goodnight. Alice: Someday i'm going to extend my bedtime ritual to dawn. Beni: Then she'll be tired and cranky all the time. Dill: Oh, good.

Alice was given more than enough ritual satisfaction by Madeline and poor, bloodied Peter. She needs to learn some limits.
