Alice: Hey! Dill! Dill: Hi, Alice! Alice: get me out of here! Dill: There's mud all over the place. Alice: I know that! Get me out of here! Dill: Alice is stuck way out in the mud. Beni: How'd she get out there? Dill: I'll bet she's been out there dancing around since before the snow melted. Alice: hurry up! Beni: Or even before the glaciers came by.
If I were the boys I would tell Alice to back up to the far side of the manhole cover, flap her arms really hard, and take a running leap so she could fly over the mud to safety. Then run like the wind.
