As you ramble on through life brother, no matter what your goal, keep your eye upon the doughnut and not upon the hole.

You’ll learn, at some point, to love those holes, Petey. You’ll love them.

We used to have a little boy in our after-school program who wouldn’t eat anything with holes in it. We had a box of windmill cookies with four tiny holes where the vanes crossed the building. I watched him pick up four or five, hold them to the light and then drop them into the trash can. Put a stop to that real quick, and gave him something else to eat. Since there was nothing in the trash but paper, we retrieved the cookies and put them on a plate.

No donuts with holes? OK. How about an apple fritter? How about one of those oblong donuts? Jelly donuts? Boston creme? White angel creme?

I don’t think it would be a secret that they will be running the world in 30 or 40 years. They’ll be in their 40s and 50s then.

Waiting 30 to 40 years to become an adult is not practical for me—I’d be well over 100! Besides, I don’t believe in Ernesto.
