Was it ever revealed whether this is a paternal or maternal grandma? Going by who visits her most often and her apparent age, I believe she is Madeline’s grandmother, making her Alice’s maternal great-grandmother.

Grandma’s yard is rather more ornate, shall we say, than the average Cul de Sac mini-yard.
