Tony, I stopped reading newspapers about 11 years ago. I used to read the local paper and the National Post. Now I get it all online.

I used to buy the Thursday-Sunday AZ Republic but stopped about 5 years ago after my last layoff. I have learned to love mostly on my SSA even though I have a large home (mostly paid off).

I stopped reading the paper within the last year, because the service had become so bad. I miss it terribly.

I read our local paper which has become about 30 pages of nothing But funny you should ask, I was at KMart yesterday and there was a man representing a newspaper from one of our cities. He offered me a $15.00 KMart card if I would take out a month subscription to the paper which is a 7 day newspaper and a good one actually So I did it. The subscription cost me $2.00 in the end, considering the gift card. Used the gift card for MiracleGro and some seeds.

We were getting a Sunday paper in the early AM (normal) and then later in the Am another Sunday paper. I called and they said oh it’s complementary for those who do not get the paper.Hello we have been getting the paper for 18 years now where are their records?? Do they even care ?? Do they even know where their records are??At least the second paper stopped, at least for now.LOL

Tony, I still read the Sunday Chicago Tribune, even though I don’t live in Chicago. Does this strip have anything to do with Gary’s forced retirement?

I canceled my subscription to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, and they called me one day and asked what they could do to get me to resubscribe. I said that there were three things: Expand the Sunday editorial section back to six pages from four; put Non Sequitur back on the comics page; re-hire Stuart Carlson and Gary Markstein, the editorial cartoonists they got rid of.

    They haven’t called me back.

I still get the local paper 7 days a week. I read it at breakfast, with the local news on the TV. Between the 2 I stay mostly informed. Only a few comics in the local, so I read most of the ones on this site as well as Daily Ink and a couple of smaller ones.

Years ago, I was gathering the papers for recycling, and found most still in rubber bands or plastic bags. I couldn’t afford to run a charity for the paper, so I let it expires. Get my news on line just like my comics.

I subscribe to and read The Cincinnati Enquirer, plus a weekly local paper because I like to sit on the bed and spread the newspaper out. Not so comfortable sitting at a desk to read from our computer—like I do with the comics. :D

I do save the newspapers for recycling or give them to our daughter for her dogs and/or birds. My cat won’t poop in the litter box so I also use papers for her “landings.”
