@Tony“Are you afraid of spiders?”.No, we don’t have any dangerous spiders around here either. Most of the time we ignore them but if they are someplace where we don’t want to share the space we will scoop them up with a paper cup and playing card and take them outside.Wasps on the other had are just plain NASTY.
I hate to say it, but Hubby is as bad a six women when it comes to spiders. He’d be right up there on the chair with Peter. Give him a snake or a mouse any day, and he’s fine, but no spiders.
I felt something crawling on me Tuesday when I was out in the yard. Found a little spider that hitched a ride. I turned it loose, but he was quite a long way from home.
@TonyI’m not scared of them. I don’t like them when I’m running trails in the woods, because getting facefulls of spiderwebs is no fun, but I wouldn’t say I’m scared of them. And being tall, I usually have to run in front to clear all the spiderwebs. I like them less than snakes, though, because snakes you can see on the path in front of you, but it’s hard to see spider webs.If I’m not worried about the webs (hiking, running, etc.), I’m certainly not afraid of spiders. I’m not the kind that will go pick them up, we do have some poisonous ones, but I’m not cowering on a chair, either. I have seen a couple Black Widows around here, make sure to keep my distance from them when I try to kill them.
QOTD #2:I can’t think of any animal I’m afraid of. I’m scared of heights, but I never let it stop me from doing anything. I think having that fear is part of what makes doing anything height/climbing related so exciting and fun.
Not afraid of spiders. And I don’t like to kill insects of any kind, I will even avoid killing a stink bug if I can “shoosh” him outside. And as resilient as they are, flushing one down the toilet, I like to think it has a fighting chance anyway, LOL!
My Dad really wanted a boy, but was stuck with me, so I was taught not to be afraid of anything.I suppose I would be afraid of a bear, if I ever met one.
QOTD #1: Certainly not afraid of them as I had Red Legged Tarantula as a pet for many years, until she died of old age. After that my middle son, sensing how upset I was bought me a Pink Knee as a replacement.
QOTD #2: About the only thing I am afraid of would be not leaving the world at least a little better than the way I found it.
Not afraid of spiders. Outside, they can live as long as they want (and eat other bugs). Inside, they get evicted to outside and see above.Peg, if you don’t want the spider around, kill it yourself. You’re a LOT bigger than the spider.
I’m ashamed to say that yes spiders and bugs are the only things that can make me scream like a little girl. I’m good with no legs up to 4 legs……beyond that eeeekkkk! I once got a full body rash from a spider bite and the hubby has a quarter sized scar from a brow recluse bite a few years back.

Ask a certain orange cat to get it (no, not Heathcliff).

We don’t have dangerous spiders here so, no. If I had a spider in my bad, I would mostly be afraid of accidentally squishing it.

Although we have dangerous species here, I prefer having the spiders to whatever it is they are eating.
