I agree with Susan, there is a very good Japanese restaurant in that style not too far from us. Eating out really isn’t in our budget any more, though.
I’m more likely to go to a fast-food restaurant (about once a week), so that would be BK. And I’m not telling Whoppers™ when I say that this is today’s…
Exactly my thought KSU71. You can even get a clean plate for round two.
We go out to breakfast once a week on shopping day. I understand about not being able to afford to go out to eat – even breakfast usually costs us $20 – $30 for both of us. My favorite restaurant is a good Mexican restaurant – and not one that uses packaged taco shells (my pet peeve).
I’ve been known to pile my plate at a buffet or pot luck since it all looks so good! Second time around just a little bit more of the things I liked best the first time. But I’ve never piled my plate like Pete did. Reminds me of once being on a group outing with this man who got 3 plates, one for sandwiches, one for salads and one for desserts. He put them all down in front of him and it was no good telling him he was only supposed to get one plate of food at a time!
My ex husband loved the local all you can eat buffet. He would try to sneak leftovers into a large tupperware freezer container in his duffel bag. He was banned for life.
A little dive called Beach Pub on Laskin Road in Virginia Beach is my favorite place. It was actually featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I like it best in the fall when they have fresh spot (a smallish salt water fish).

Tony’s question, posted with today’s strip, is probably the one actually meant for it… and for today.
Wat a concept!
“Favorite restaurant?”
Um…. no…. can’t say I’ve ever been to that one before.
Now, if I had the money to eat in any restaurant I liked, any time I felt like it,
an all-you-can-eat place wouldn’t be close to in the running for “favorite restaurant.”.
But when I get a raw fish craving on my current budget,
I do enjoy a local Japanese restaurant that serves all-you-can-eat sushi at a fairly reasonable price.
People complain that it’s not the best sushi in town…. and you can’t get the fancy stuff like toro.
Well, sure. I don’t expect that…
but it’s fresh, and good…
You order it from a menu; it’s not a buffet.
And you don’t have to get any weird Americanised “rolls.”Not my “favorite restaurant” of all time….
but someplace I like to go if I can.

We enjoy so many different kinds of food it would be hard to choose one. Let’s see…Indian/Nepali, Mexican, Thai, Japanese?

Favorite restaurants? As long as the meals taste good and savory and sate me, I happy!!!

I’m waiting for the I Don’t Care restaurants to get closer.
“Where do you want to eat?”
“I don’t care…”
Perfect!

Would this scene be embarrassing for you?

Hey Pete, it’s a buffet you don’t have to get all on one trip.

If there was a next panel it would be food flying everywhere after Peter slips on the gravy dripping from his plate.
