Know your tech?

Yes. Including programming vcrs without instruction manual, operating espresso machines, setting microwave clocks and installing Bluetooth under Ubuntu. And pairing devices.

I know enough tech to operate a computer. These days, it doesn’t require a lot of technical skills to do so.

I suppose I know my tech well enough.

Tigressy, that made me laugh, cos back in the 80’s, when my neighborhood was still full of elderly widows,

I was the designated appliance clock, vcr, wristwatch, and answering machine setter, pilot light re-lighter, and all-purpose battery replacer.

My phone would ring and a quavery, pleading voice would tell me the wind blew out the water heater, a power outage reset all the clocks and timers to zero…

or maybe a new watch was a Christmas present… one time it was a set of battery operated chirping birds(!) … and I’d be off to one or another neighbor’s house.

In return, I’d get coffee, maybe cookies…. and a chance to feel like a superhero.

I’m not a programmer or a total computer geek like many here….

but I know my way around one.

I’m self taught on those, and other devices… but ever since about day 31, I’ve found myself showing others how to use them.

And yes(!!), emphatically, I use the cloud…

not iCloud… cos, by choice, I have no iStuff….

But Google Drive totally saved me when my previous computer died, and I love it for that….

besides being able to show anyone any picture from my computer on my phone.

He kid, did you know if dad doesn’t pay your phone bill you can’t access the cloud?

What new improvements will they be making to that light bulb?

Know your tech? Well I don’t have an 8 year old around so I muddle through. Getting excited about the 5G world.

Everything’s just fine until you find out that what’s on your phone and what’s in the cloud and what’s on your computer are three different things.
