Obviously they must be end-of-run bricks, so material content is not uniform. I’ve laid some bricks in my day and lack of uniformity CAN be a problem. and I AM referring to REAL bricks I built an outdoor oven with firebricks and filled basement windows with glass brick (and small vents) back at my old house.
