I regularly lost arguments to my imaginary friend. Worse, the voices in my head would only talk to each other, not to me.

When I said good-bye to my imaginary friend, he hugged me (without my conscious willing for him to do so) and left.

I never had any friend or fiend. I was too busy creating and learning.

Though for a Houyhnhnm like Horace he can generate one easily. Much harder for humans to create such tulpas also called thought forms.
