You say the horse’s black, I say white

You say it’s for a lark, I say right

You say off the mark, I say hey man

    Repairs was never my scene

And I don’t like to crawl on all fours

I don’t believe in Peter Pan

    Frankenstein or Superman

    All I watch is DIY’s

    Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle

Don’t want to fix your bicycle, bicycle, bicycle…

something tells me he might need someone else to fix it… or it’s entertaining instead… either way, it don’t look good.

Oddly, that’s how I learn whether or not I want to fix it, or have someone else do it. Once the person on the video starts bringing out torches, welders, has to remove half the engine, and such, it’s time to find a mechanic.

I need to replace the 5-speed freewheel (rear sprocket) on my 1985 Mountaire mountain bike; shop wanted $400 to replace everything but the frame and wheels :^( Found a YT video but my eyes glazed over at the half-dozen different types they said it could be (and at least two different types of the tool needed to remove it), and google wasn’t any help either. I don’t want to take it apart just to see what kind it is, till I have a replacement in hand (I hate getting all filthy from the greasy chain/gears – it takes a week for it to wear off).

Normal Houyhnhnms don’t have this problem just humans and Horace who is lacking which makes him closer to a human in almost every way. He is hot headed and lazy and wastes time on frivolous things which his driven logical counterparts do not do that. The difference is that Horace wasn’t born with a ghost spider in his brain. With humans it turns them into coldly logical and selfish economen and women. Whereas for Houyhnhnms they become like “Lucy” in that movie. Horace occasionally shows what kinds of powers he has but doesn’t bother to exploit them. The mutant Horace has a strip.

Here’s a thing – there should be more good videos on how to make DIY videos. :)

I am the first to admit that some DIY videos are awesome. However, most instructional videos are full of time-wasting mistakes, backtracking and misinformation. I have personally written and posted hundreds of instructions for various computer procedures. A good procedure can be read in a minute or two – a video version can take ten minutes without being superior in any way.

I read 1200 wpm; I watch video the same speed as everyone else. :)
