So in 2 days we have moved along with the story more than we have in the preceding 3 weeks.
This is getting interesting - and no major drawing flaws that I pick up at a glance(except the curly swing - but I hope my comment don’t get delete because of this)
If, as I and others before me, suspect that he is in the witness protection plan, would it not have made more sense for him to wait for his handlers? Tracy could demand answers until the cows come home and he could be silent. Somehow I do not think the FBI will be happy with this.
As Ringo confesses we hear “I was employed by a major import company —- a special shipment caught my eye — modern weaponry — it was highly unusual, and HIGHLY illegal.!”
So Ringo trots off to the FBI and “blows the whistle”
The owners a bunch of Freaks who are really annoyed threaten to KILL him, and in the meantime they run off and start a Circus (?) Am I on track here ?
Ringo fearful for his life pleads with the FBI, and they put him in a “witness protection” program.
Back at the Circus they forgot to fill the post of Ring Master and of the Millions of places and towns available the FBI, ‘HID’ him right there in the Circus !
Odd thing is, the FBI who is investigating the Exporters don’t “recognize” them nor does Ringo who worked with them (??) .
The employers have learned all sorts of Circus skills in record time and these freaky people somehow naturally fill or fit all the “odd ball” poitions needed in a Circus (?)
As we will find out shortly, Louise Trapeze was SHOT by ANOTHER Circus freak to STOP her, from killing Ringo, because they wanted to have that pleasure.
As Tracy is about to face another death crisis along with irrelavant Agent Ennen by yet another freak, the urge to reserve the killing for themselves, has evaporated,.
This is easily the WORST and most REDICULOUS (far fetched) story EVER to appear in this great comic strip.
It’s time for Locher to retire. The time is right NOW !
My apologies for revealing some of what’s ahead but NOW seemed the right time to show up the degree of the ridiculousness that has become heavily entrenched in Dick Tracy.
TMS needs to take note ! A future requires “QUALITY” not more of the current SAME — at “low cost” !.
I did not know that the smugglers are the same ones who own the circus.
I thought Ringo blew the whistle on his former employers, and the FBI [sic] put him in the circus to hide him. Someone has recognized him, however, and joined the circus to get him.
How Louise Trapeze fits in, I don’t know; but the story makes sense if the smugglers don’t own the circus. Have we actually been told this? My attention has wandered a bit over the past month.
Hey Syd, you don’t think that Bonnie had another reason for wanting them to go to the circus in the 1st place? Like maybe she had a boyfriend she wanted her parents to meet and then we find out the guy is the smuggler? You gotta think outside the box man.

I suspected trouble when the manifest showed something called a particle beam hay baler.

Anyone see the Useless Lt. Teevo? He seems to have disappeared.

I thought the tiger was going to be involved - some kind of illegal exotic animal smuggling scheme. But this could work too.

By the time Dick Tracy solves this one he’ll be retiring.

Panel 1 may be the best drawn Tracy we’ve seen in some time. Good strip all around today.
(Credit where it’s due!)

Maybe this strip will save itself from self destruction and a fate worse than death on October 4th! EVERYONE ALL PRAY TOGETHER!

Does anyone remember that WitSec is run by the US Marshalls, not the FBI?

Where, oh where did my little post go? Where oh where can it be? It’s got to be in the deleted trash file, so thoughtless of little old me!
