Dyl K, I’ll grant you that panel one does look surprisingly good, certainly much better than what we’ve come to expect. Panel two would certainly be better if there wasn’t that problem with the scale of the steps. Panel three? Eh, same old crud.
Here’s a thought: the art and writing in DT are usually sub-par because Locher and Brozman are being paid peanuts. I think someone said here that DT is carried in 50 papers or less. That doesn’t generate much income.
Of course, sub-par works means less income because more papers drop the strip.
Now if I remember correctly.. and I always do
The Blank committed multiple Murders in front of multiple witnesses in 1937 and was caught in the act and unmasked by our very own Dick Tracy who now can’t seem to remember past last Tuesday.
Now 1937 being a less enlightened though more orderly time our faceless friend would most certainly have been sent to either the electric chair or the Gas Chamber post haste since they didn’t do the weepy weepy bleeding heart , oh my he was abused as a child and raised in a bad neighborhood sort of slop our justice system seems to specialize in today.
That being said it’d be hard to actually believe this is the same fellow still walking around. Maybe he’s the son of Redrum as per his remark about relatives meeting.
This talk of relatives – time for some retconning by Locher?
Maybe this Dick Tracy is Dick Tracy, Jr. and the Dick Tracy of the old days was Sr. Or the modern day Tracy is the original Dick Tracy’s nephew. Like they did with Dan Aykroyd in the comedy version of Dragnet, the 1987 movie featuring Sgt. Joe Friday’s dense nephew.
If this is the “Blank” he is moving pretty good for someone who must by now be in his 80’s. If it is his son as some speculate the he would be in his 60’s at least.
The real problem is they keep trying to show us the buildings in perspective which is apparently beyond their talents (or else they each have only one good eye between them. Instead of 3/4 view we are getting 10/32 and a half.
Just show us the flat front of the building with a caption as to what it is thank you very much and I think we cal all follow along.
The museum appears to have been jacked up to be moved so maybe it and the Play are being hauled away.

Dick Tracy looks amazing today. The building in the middle looks good too. I wonder what is with these random bits of great art in a row…

G’morning all!
The museum has been elevated! How does one get to the steps?

*VB*, I think those supposed to be steps leading up to the smaller steps by the front doors. If not, then you have to jump real high…

I’d be worn out from climbing all those steps! No wonder there’s a fence! If you fell off, the fall would probably kill ya”.

Just speculating.

Maybe they are looking for 51 by tempting them with all these non-midget fingers and Tracy not always at a side profile…just a thought.

Yes, but those two big vibrators someone noted previously are still there. So the art continuity is better…

Again I ask, why are they putting on a play in the Science Museum?!? Hasn’t Locher ever heard of, oh I don’t know, a Theater?
Dr. Midnight over 14 years ago
Oh, and “Is something bothering you Tracy?” “NOTHING!”
AH HA HA HA!! HA! HA HA!

I don’t understand why Tracy is wondering why his relatives met the Blank when he met him himself. This is not the Dick with senility problems.

From Locher the worst mistake of the 21st century.

Not only have the steps of the Science Museum changed, but the entire entrance has moved from the location in the strip of April 26.

So, this is going to be a show about nothing?
It’s been done before!

It seems to be close to falling off the “platform” and it appears to be narrower. Not a very large structure. Perhaps it is larger inside.

Buildings and backgrounds are not Brozman’s thing (remember those TV monitors at HQ a few days ago?)
It’s faces and a big plus is he does hands at the correct size when he doesn’t ink over Lochers rough pencil work.
It’s all a TMS problem !
