I’m disappointed that the Science Museum had stopped expanding. If it kept going, by Friday this strip would be just one long panel, the museum having devoured everything in sight.
That odd plant on the left of the museum - it’s been showing up since Saturday. I suspect it has hallucinogenic properties, explaining why everything in Dick Tracy’s unreality keeps morphing.
First panel: is that Tracy’s eyelash or another wrinkle on Anja’s face in the background? If it’s an eyelash, then Tracy has quite the overhang with his brow. Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon? I think that’s his big bushy eyebrow blending into the shadow on his face. Picasso got heaps of money for painting hyper-dimensional art like that.
In a previous installment, it was described as “make-up.” So that’s not a mask Johnny Nothing’s wearing; it’s make-up that somehow obscures all facial features, yet allows the wearer to see, breathe, and talk.
Later we will see the Blank has RED hair. Why do I think Locher’s big surprise is that it’s Junior behind the mask (?)
Perhaps “rekindling” the blame, that it’s Tracy who caused Moon Maid’s death (?)
Remember, the Blank saved Juniors life. Weird poetic justice ?
I havn’t read this up ahead, Just a wild thought in the ‘dark’.
And will Tracy finally get his HAT and coat back ?
Days like this, I can’t help but wonder what might have been.

About two-thirds of the way down the page is an entry from 2007 where Mike Curtis shows what the DT strip would look like with him and Joe Staton at the helm. Not surprisingly, it’s far better than this tripe.

OK, I get it; Anja Nu was The Blank’s wife and Johnny Nothing is their grandchild.

You could be right, Flight Suit. Well, the Science Museum is no larger since yesterday. What in the world is that thing growing on the left?

VB, it’s a really scary man devouring tree…

Anja does seem to favor Johnny..let’s see how this all shakes out.

It’s not plausible that anybody acting in any play would attend all the rehearsals wearing a mask.

I hate to break this to you, FS, but I think you’re at the wrong place if you’re expecting plausibility. : )

He’s thankful that he got an audition, I thought he wrote the thing?

Good catch, VD:
On 4/26: “Johnny Nothing, you dear boy… You have written a wonderful play!” On 5/2: “(The play was) written by our friend… Johnny Nothing!”
Sheez, this is a hot mess. I’m about to give up hope that it will get better someday.

Handrew, you are dead right. Let’s hope after Tribune goes bankrupt or comes to their senses they turn Tracy over to Curtis and Staton.
Or perhaps, they will simply drop the strip and someone else will grab it and hire Curtis and Staton…..either way.
