Finding Al . . .
??First off, Flattopâs gang consisted of Ed, Charlie and Joe. No Al. Since this is all Chester Gould âFlash Backâ stuff, âthoughtâ Iâd try an âassistâ from Vic Wichertâs - Dick Tracy Encyclopedia âŠ
From that source, theyâre only too Alâs listed - Al one of the artists for the (in-strip) âSawdustâ comic strip, and patterned after Gouldâs âreal lifeâ (police advice) assistant Al Varnis âŠ
The other Al, was the Police Helicopter Pilot â used by Tracyâs department from 1954 to 1964.He appeared, (among âothersâ), in the Open Mind Monty, the George Ozone and the Mumbles cases.
