Okay, I don’t get the last item in the To Do list today. What about a bun and Dale’s coat??? As for Timmy’s statement, I was waiting for Burl to make a crack about Timmy carrying a purse.
Yeah, this one doesn’t seem to follow. In a way though, I guess this makes it a perfect DS strip. I was going to say we should wait for Leaky but he’s already diagnosed and gone. Now we’re really in trouble. And re: playing the property tax card, be sure to try that with the fire dept and see how long it takes them to find your house, Burl. “Oh, you said West Main? We thought you said East Main. We couldn’t get new local street maps because the tax money ran out. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
OK, so in Burl-world, Timmy can take whatever he wants from his teacher’s purse..
because they, ever so generously, paid the property taxes that gave her all that money…
Her hard work apparently has nothing to do with her salary… Those dollars still belong to the taxpaying citizens of Crustwood, and their sticky-fingered offspring..
So…. if you pay your storage rent….does that entitle you to rifle the contents of Burl’s stash-drawer…the one where he puts the “found” objects to take home?
Not on your life, I bet.He wouldn’t even give you one of the sticks of gum he steals …borrows from his boss’ glove compartment.
Oh I thought ale carries buns in his coat and that is Joys way of taking what’s not theirs. Yea like they need buns or any kind of bread. I was hoping Timmy was smarter than that, or maybe the teacher was talking to the whole class because someone else was dipping their hand in her purse. Teachers do work hard for their $$ and spends quite a bit on supplies for the classroom it’s not fair for them. No apple for her Maybe she’ll be glad after all 30+ apples are enough.
This comic is especially confusing today on a lot of levels. First, Timmy reaching into his teacher’s purse seems REALLY, REALLY out of character for the well-balanced Timmy. Either this is a) the start of a depressing downturn in Timmy’s kindness, intelligence and behavior to that more akin to his “role-models” or b) we are in “bizzaro” land due to the various incongruences.

He works hard for that gum.

Of course, none of that explains “Put Dale’s coat in Bun my room.”
My best guess? It was supposed to say “Put Dale’s coat in my room”…
as in… “let me take your coat”…which turns out to mean literally…
And “Bun” was accidentally left there from the last time Julie used this panel.
She’s not great at proofreading.
But your guess is as good as mine.

I laughed when I read the note to clean under the chair. Then I looked under MY office chair. I know just what he means.

Indeed, Leaky, it’s Bizarro World Dinette Set today. Good thing we have longtime Crustwoodian SusanSunshine to sort it out for us.

‘Put Dale’s coat in Burl and my room’ is what I think was intended. But who can know? The artist is often sloppy with her work.
