Burl has a point. There is a major steakhouse chain that has recently (significantly) reduced the size of its dinnerware—smaller salads and sides. I also think they have their cattle run to the store to save money rather by trucking the beef. Cheaper but tougher. And ****** Bread has smaller bowls for their soups. They will likely deny this like the TV stations deny increasing the volume for commercials. Or when ice cream and OJ suddenly became 59 oz. rather than 64. Or a pound of coffee shrank to 12 oz, Or a chocolate bar simply disappeared. Grump, grump.
Wed ate out Friday nite, nice place. The plates were about 15" across. my steak was the size of a hockey puck smack dab in the middle of this white expanse. On one side was a schmeer of potato puree with about a teaspoon of shredded brussels sprouts sprinkled decoratively on one end. That’s right, food as a Picasso painting. And this cost us $43.00 apiece. Susan’d Dad would have stormed the kitchen. Knives would have been thrown and everything. And my Dad would have been right behind him!
Ok so they are at a restaurant, Burl orders the AUCE soup and salad and bread for $5.99. He slurps 1/2 his soup and wants it filled. Does he not know he gets another one when he,s finished? They don’t have the brains to figure that out…
If I was Burl, I’d be afraid, very afraid, of what came back in the soup. We’ve all heard the horror stories. People like Burl just bring out the worst in people. There’s a good book on Kindle called, “Would you like a slap with that, By the UnSung Waitor”. It’s a really good quick read by so true!

Burl may have a point, but his attitude could get the other half of the bowl filled with…I’ll leave it to you to fill in the blank.

Yes, sir. One dishwater refill coming up. With extra grease globs.

You can always recognize a waiter or waitress who takes cream in their coffee – they only give you a half a cup, instead of filling it to the brim.
