Ok, I get the joke about Dale’s counterproductive cheapness….
But honestly……
I can understand breaking a tool you use for striking, prying or cutting….especially these fools, who probably use 99¢ slip-nose pliers as pipe wrenches and hammers.
But metal or plastic, how does he break a sturdy gauge you merely hold against the wall, or whatever?
Reminds me of a fruitless encounter in the supermarket when I tried to explain to a young woman that a full pound of bacon for $4 cost the same as a 12 oz. package for $3. She “couldn’t afford” the $4 bacon, instead taking several packages of the lower-quality bacon which cost exactly the same.

Not twice as much. More like five times as much. So it’s still cheaper to buy several plastic ones if you only use it once in awhile.
