    Had an old aunt who lived alone in a small house and she never threw anything away. So much clutter that she would open a kitchen drawer, place big wooden cutting board across it and pull up a chair. That was where she ate her meals. Wonderful old lady, though.

    Most people who lived through the depression saved everything. A co-workers mom was like this, she even saved the Styrofoam trays that meat came on from the store, yes she washed them first.
