Three days later, Wilson “Junker” James, the “expert” was revealed as a former insurance salesman fired for being a habitual liar. Looking back, maybe that yo-yo last week hadn’t belonged to Abraham Lincoln. I knew he wasn’t right. He didn’t wear a plaid suit.

Something is only worth what someone will pay. I always wondered why, on Pawn Stars, the expert would come and say “This is worth $17,000.” and then the Pawn guy would say “I’ll give you $6,000.” and no one ever just took their stuff and tried to sell it on their own.

I wonder how much the box of rocks will be valued at.

The ‘find it’ is a clown.

I watch Antiques Roadshow from time to time, and one thing I remember from all of them: “On a good day”, “At a well attended auction”, etc.
 “For insurance purposes”
.

Just this past Monday, I found out about Blancpain watches, and I did not know that it is the oldest known company, and that it was bought out by Swatch. After the show, I looked up that company on-line, I suspect that that watch’s appraisal was way too low, seeing as it was an Art Deco watch that had diamonds and saphires on the chain
