Hey Burl, working at McDonald’s, the kid will learn a lot about your favorite music, like “I’m Lovin’ It,” “You Deserve a Break Today,” “We Do It All For You,” and “We Love to See You Smile."…!
If I remember correctly, McDonald’s helps pay for tuition. I worked at a medical school which was part of the university I went to. I got one free class per term, and I went every term, year around, unless I didn’t have enough to pay for the rest of the classes or, as I got closer to graduation, if the class wasn’t offered that term. I graduated with no student loans. It just took a little longer. I feel it was a good choice for me and it got me through my BA and my first master’s degree, too.
I worked my way through college, paying for the classes as I went. If there were rough times, I just saved a little extra by putting money in the bank for the next semester. Yeah, it took 24 years, but I graduated top of my class with no debt.

Working at McD’s shouldn’t be an insult. It’s a JOB!

By “chose”, he means what he realized when the high school councilor fell out of her chair laughing.
