Regardless, the U.S. failed in Vietnam because the political will to commit to a military victory simply didn’t exist. The North Vietnamese were a determined people fighting for the unification of their homeland and we were fighting out of a vague sense of dread. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out how that’s going to end.
