My lab mix likes both ice cubes and carrots. Then again, she likes pretty much anything organic (under the definition “of, relating to, or derived from living organisms”). We’re grateful she doesn’t eat plastic.
Our late family dog loved carrots, so she’d have been all for that. She might’ve gone for the ice cube too, but I can’t say we ever tried giving one to her.
My Sheltie would try to eat almost anything organic, so I had to be cautious where I left food. One time he finished an entire jar of horseradish (with no apparent side effects) and wanted more. Obviously, I rejected his request.
Chloe will do as many tricks for carrots as for any other treat. Sometimes if you were working over by the cabinet the treats are in while she was sitting so patiently in a (self initiated) “stay” she’ll give you a “what are you thinking” look for ice, but she comes running when the freezer door is opened and will gladly work for one
That is exactly how my akita x felt about both those options. I tried to pass a baby carrot off on him once and he pushed it away with his nose as if to say, “That is NOT a treat!”

We are so lucky
Our St Bernard was a rescue and she did make a mess on her first day
The only other time she has ever done it she was obviously not feeling well

That is a rotten trick for a little Labby. Our Shiba will eat popcorn… but he is a nut.

My two like anything crunchy, like stems of broccoli or cauliflower, etc. Also carrots, of course, goes without saying (okay, I just said it).

LOVE the first frame, such a happy dog look. And the transition from that to suspicion to disdain is pretty awesome too.

Here’s one I’ll bet you haven’t heard before – my two love oranges. I haven’t been able to eat a whole one for ages.

Surprising there, Sophie. Our labs all loved the crunchy treats of ice cubes or carrots. Our current girl is mad for apple slices.
