The only way to keep the cats off my chair would be to not have a chair

Even when I’m in it, Boots is in my lap right now

Put some curly hair on this dog, because she’s a Labradoodle!

You know, of course, as soon as backs are turned, she’ll be right back up.

For a dog or cat that thinks black and white, it’s confusing for them when anyone is training them for tricks like sitting, staying, etc. They have to confine it to the floor. When the pets do sit on something – they naturally want to know the difference (of sitting) on a couch or the floor.

Dude…this is a battle you’re not going to win. Every pet is going to be on that chair whenever they think they’ll get away with it. They’re clever than you’d think about this. So rather than fight it, you might as well just own it.

My brother’s cat used to jump up and sit on your lap, bit then she’d slowly wedge herself in between you and the armrest, she was a hefty cat and soon you’d find yourself squished and have to get up where upon she would spead out over the whole seat.

We can be a bit contradictory, but boundaries must be set.
