    Or…. we went from a room-sized piece of electronics that could do basic math to a handheld computer that can access phenomenal amounts of data, act as a book or radio or TV, or video phone and can endlessly perform complex calculations. Oh…and give you the daily comics.

    Oh, good, I’m not the only one who prefers the flip-phone design. I’m hoping it makes a comeback when iphones and androids get sophisticated enough.

    It does seem that someone would design a smart phone with flip phone features. The “flip” was protective and as stated convenient for fitting on the face easier.

    How about the “brick” from the 80’s? It looked and felt like a WWII walkie-talkie and really was almost the size and shape of a brick. Today’s huge so-called “smart” phones are, in some dimensions even bigger that those old bricks.
