My local area has a ball park. Most Independence Days… I can see and hear from my home the fireworks going off. But 2020 celebration was canceled due to the Pandemic. I think they saved up… bought more… but they are now selling Parking Permits/Tickets for New Years Eve at the same Park! Let’s hope it rings in a happier new year! May it be bright and cheerful for you as well!
Here’s an off-the-wall thought. What if everyone, at midnight January 1, was at any window of their residence that faces outside the building bidding adieu to 2020 with an appropriate look at the moon. I suggest you look at it this way: If everyone is doing it, nobody will be looking at your perspective.
Chinese New Year, 2021 on Feb. 12, is traditionally celbrated with fireworks. The fireworks frighten away evil spirits. I don’t think it counts as cultural appropriation if we borrow that practice this year.

Actually, more excited than usual to ring out the old (and terrible) year this time.

You guys are so lucky. In a sheltered environment, and dogs don’t get COVID!

I read the best description of 2020 on Facebook yesterday. “Like looking both ways before crossing the street and then getting hit by a submarine.”

We will probably never be more motivated for a new year than we are for this one.
