You piqued my interest. Now I want to see Kenny run an agility course. I’m rooting for Kenny to beat Verb’s time. I’ve attended AKC Masters agility competition. When AKC opened up to mixed breeds I drank the Kool-aid. I thought it would be nice running my mixed breeds with my purebreds. How wrong I was, too much politics. Yip yip yip yip yip

If you haven’t done dog agility with you dog/dogs, go try it out and have fun. There are event for your children with you kids (four legged type). Yip yip yip yip yip

It’s hard to run an agility course while pulling a dogsled.

I prefer UKC, they have the All Stars, UKC Premier (both held in Kalamazoo MI, the All Stars is held first), and UKC Nationals (Missouri). All three are major events. I have Kids (dogs) that have earned AKC Masters Agility Champion (MACH), UKC United Grand Agility Champion (UGRACH), and CPE C-atch titles. All said and done, I prefer UKC over CPE (CPE has some nice games), and CPE over AKC agility.

UKC includes some different agility equipment in AGII and AGIII along with 2 ft and 6 ft delimiting line (distance the handler cannot cross into when performing that obstacle). Some of the difference obstacles are: Hurdles (Bush, Log, Picket Fence, Rail Fence, (they use to have a window)), Sway Bridge, Swing Plank, Hoop Tunnel (an opened tunnel with boundary designated by hoops), they use to have a crawl tunnel (its been gone for a long time), and a Pause Box.

Be forewarned, once your dog is trained on agility obstacles, it may opens up new doors and safety concerns while running outside in the woods. It did for my pack. Yip yip yip yip yip

I did have a pit mix many years who who leapt over the rail of the six-foot-high deck, nabbed a bird in flight and hit the ground in full gallop, then she trotted back up the stairs covered in mud and jumped into the open dryer full of clean clothes, turned around three times and settled in for a nap. I’d like to see THAT recreated in an agility course!
