Reminds me of the old routine from the movie “Murder By Death.” It concerned this misadventures of the blind butler (played by Alec Guiness) and the deaf and mute maid (Nancy Walker) as they tried to prepare a big dinner for the guests. Probably terribly un-PC today, but funny then.

Why is GT wasting time on this arc? With only a short while before the big vote shouldn’t he be spending more time slamming the republicans and showing how enlightened the democrats are?

“Why is GT wasting time on this arc? With only a short while before the big vote shouldn’t he be spending more time slamming the republicans and showing how enlightened the democrats are?”#GT doesn’t need to do that, Rommey himself will close the deal with his “off the cuff” comments!

I know what Sherman is “hearing” — I have severe tinnitus, and it definitely a pain, for lack of a better word.

Being on BOTH sides of the ‘toon, some days are more “interesting” than others, and communication becomes very difficult. Which, radio is a rarity for me, as they don’t caption it.

It is always about politics. Sorry my comments were such a failure according to someone yesterday. Meanwhile he would have us believe that he is above it all. If you aren’t looking for politics don’t read doonesbury. You should try one of the many irrelevant strips which are out there.

Good thing I am not trying to win over anyone in terms of making comments, but then again, that is the way of politics too, I’m afraid. You would think many of the liberals on this thread are in fact running for something…Yesterday, a Romney tape was shown with him making some inflammatory comments about Obama supporters, about us being lazy, living off the government, etc. Though his comments were despicable as well as untrue, he was right about one thing: one side will never win over the other. Politics is often more about tribalism than ideology. Witness the fact that the more Clinton moved to the right, the more the Dems loved him while the more the GOP hated him…By sheer numbers, there will be more Dems than GOP, this is why they started their block the vote campaign this time around. They want to win and they know they can’t do it any other way.

GBT could easily move this story to mention the ad guys whom work for both sides of the aisle. You know those voiceovers in all the ads? They are the same guys, not partisans.

I don’t think GT cares about being bipartisan. He has a point of view and there is nothing wrong with that.

Quote “He’ll reach way down deep into his slime storage pit and come up with some demented BS right out of the Democratic “How to Slop” book. He never fails. He might also go into his religious tirade and blame everything on the people who believe in God, the Father of us all. The guy is demented and loves to ridicule believers…. no matter in what they believe.”So how do you explain his (GT) story arcs of 20 years featuring Lacey Davenport – a politician of principle and (fictional) republican, his portrayal of Bill Clinton as a ‘waffle’, his potrayal of Dukakis (full stop).GT lampoons the absurd behaviour of certain politicians, but that is not incitement to hatred.GTs cartoons have made me think over the years, but I’d never excuse him of a ‘religious tirade’.

I think it would be great if GT had something to say about the latest goofy stuff that Romney said in a video, but I am not sure he can work that fast. He has to have a little time to do what he does. Personally, I am not so sure that Romney is not among that 47% who don’t pay taxes. He won’t release them, so how do we know?

“I figure I’ve got maybe 5 years left. They won’t be enjoyable is Obama is picked again.”Speaking for myself, I think you’ve already gotten a great deal. I’m concerned for the future. For my nieces and nephews. I don’t give a damn if your years are “enjoyable”. Take my tax dollars and shut the f up.
