Roland: Shep, I'm now talking to Mimi Van Ork, P.R. director for the George W. Bush Institute... a faith-based belief tank, where every day a hot slurry of gut feelings is carefully processed... then poured into cooling trays and set out to harden into rigid ideology Only then is it cut into bricks and shipped to... Mimi: Do I get to talk, too?
In this country, firearms have always been used for personal protection. In the old west. a posse was put together by gathering a “militia” of locals to route out a problem. Personal protection was used against bandits, escaped slaves, and outraged indigenous people. Many groups banded together and when the men went out hunting and trapping, they made sure to leave their loved ones with a firearm and ammo all ready.
Guns are needed in the citizen’s hands even more now than in Jefferson’s time and for the same reasons he espouses.
